As the impact of Hurricane Harvey continues to expand, our thoughts are with all of those affected by the unprecedented flooding. For anyone interested in supporting the relief effort, we have gathered resources to help you do so more effectively.

Consider donating funds, not supplies

Monetary donations allow organizations more flexibility to deploy resources specific to the needs of first-responders without the strain of additional logistics or manpower.

Verify the charity

In order to ensure your funds are going to a credible organization, the Center for International Disaster Information recommends you check charity directories such as Charity Navigator and GuideStar to review your chosen organization’s operational and financial information.

Quick, credible donation options

The Red Cross has set up a donation text line allowing you to donate $10 by texting HARVEY to 90999. The United Way also has a text-to-donate option: text UWFLOOD to 41444 to donate to their relief fund. Donations can be made on the Salvation Army’s website helpsalvationarmy.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY.

Other resources

Airbnb launched an Urgent Accommodations service allowing homeowners to list rooms to displaced families for free.

To all of our friends and family in Houston, our hearts are with you during this unimaginable time.
