On May 12th, 2022, Venturi Private Wealth hosted its fourth annual Venturi Charity Shoot benefitting Honor Flight Austin. The event was held at Hog Heaven Sporting Club in Dripping Springs, Texas, and attendees were able to participate in events such as sporting clays, hatchet throws, and shooting competitions. They also enjoyed a silent auction, raffle prizes, and delicious Crimson Creek Smokehouse BBQ.
“The 4th annual Venturi Charity Shoot this year was another huge success for Honor Flight Austin. We are fortunate to have so many people in the area who deeply care for veterans and appreciate the impact they have on our country and communities. These supporters funded another ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ for 38 veterans, including one who served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam! It is difficult to describe the effect Honor Flight Austin has on veterans who, often for the first time, receive the sort of recognition, honor, and healing that this experience provides. We’re looking forward to continuing our efforts to support these veterans alongside all our charity shoot sponsors and shooters, who should certainly be proud of the contributions they have made.” – Matthew Maxcy, Veteran and Associate Advisor at Venturi Private Wealth
Honor Flight Austin has a ten-year tradition of honoring our WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans with the trip of a lifetime. Over 2,200 Central Texas Veterans have experienced this fully paid trip. The letters we receive from the vets, their wives and families tell stories of healing from wounds that we never see after 75 years of holding them in. These women and men who have served deserve this special weekend full of honor and tradition and Venturi has been a vital part of making that happen year after year.
“The Venturi Charity Shoot is instrumental in making Honor Flight Austin one of the most successful hubs in the country. This shoot has fully funded more than 15% of the total veterans we have honored with a ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ in Washington D.C. On behalf of the 450 veterans and their families we salute you for supporting these American heroes!” – Matt Mathias,
Chairman of Honor Flight Austin
The fourth annual event had approximately 100 attendees, with over $87,000 raised. Over the past 4 years, the annual Honor Flight Charity Shoot has raised $446,000.
Alex Holt, veteran and Associate Advisor at Venturi Private Wealth, had this to say about the flight he joined. “While acting as a Guardian on an Honor Flight, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that these trips have for Veterans in our community. As a Veteran myself, I developed a connection with the hero I served on the trip which has led to a meaningful friendship we continue today.”
